The Terminology An Offence to the Church.
We use the words Drunk in the Spirit, Wacked, Blissed to try to explain what is in someways very difficult to articulate about. Simply put to be intoxicated with the Holy Spiirt is to be out of “Control.” This word out of control is often looked on as something negative but one thing studying the hebrew alphabet taught me was that God loves to use both, negative and positive he used the second letter of the hebrew alphabet the Bet to create the world and that second letter as the numerical value of 2. the number two signifies difference, diversity. One of the chief reasons for a lack of fruitfulness in the church is that we have produced clones, people have copied ministries they have put on a peddlestel not realising that our God love's diversity hence no two individuals have the same finger print the same D.N.A. in the make up of who they really are.
Drunk is often related to alcohol. But we are talking about the Newwine of the Spirit the real thing! The drink that reaches the deep things of the Spirit that other drinks cannot reach. the word is often linked to the following phrases:
- Habitual and excessive use of....
- Saturated with liquid
- Makes one unsteady intoxicated.
- A state of being beyond reason and self control
- A state of overwhelming emotion, especially rapturous delight.
- A mystic or prophetic trance
- An illicit synthetic amphetamine used for its mood enhancing and hallucinogenic properties
Very interesting that the counterfeit amphetamine drug is described as mood enhancing should be described as an illicit means of getting high, is it not strange that the religious system should also treat the genuine and righteous means of getting high as something illegal and illicit ?
