Our meditation for today is the 1st Epistle of Paul to the Corinthians Chapter 4:5.
The theme is Resist the temptation to prejudge a situation or a person. We often think of temptations or should I say we never think of temptations in the area of judging someone or somebody pre maturely do we?
In our portion of today's reading, we have a very significant passage of scripture that deals with a critical area in the body of Christ that of judging. The Apostle Paul gives practical and down to earth instructions to the believers at Corinth and provides the following guidelines:
1. Resist the temptation to judge a situation or someone without first knowing all the facts.
2. Recognise the temptation and resist it, the dictionary definition of the word Resist is:
"to prevent yourself from doing something that you want to do." [Webster Dict.]
3. realise that there is an appointed time and that all things are revealed by the light including the secrets of men's hearts.
The secret is to learn to wait and to realise that God is in control and will vindicate any wrong judgements spoken over you. We also need to pray that the manifest presence of the Lord will be revealed in our gathering so that hearts may be revealed and purified by His all seeing eye.
